Presentation of Christ to the Temple (Hypapante) – This event, also known as the Meeting of the Lord, took place 40 days after Christ’s birth when the Theotokos and St. Joseph brought Him to the Temple in accordance with Jewish law. The righteous elder Symeon, upon seeing Christ, proclaimed Him to be “a light to enlighten the nations” and foretold the suffering Mary would endure. This feast marks Christ’s fulfillment of the Law and His revelation to the world.
