This icon honours St. Sophia and her three young daughters—Pistis (Faith), Elpis (Hope), and Agape (Love)—who were martyred in the 2nd century for their unwavering Christian faith. Their mother, Sophia, whose name means “Wisdom,” watched with courage and prayer as each child faced martyrdom. She is remembered for her spiritual strength and trust in God. This icon is a powerful symbol of faith, love, and steadfast devotion even in the face of suffering.
